Fieldpost tips
General logic that works on any day. Nothing here describes a particular day's grid.
Start with the smallest region
A region of two or three cells has only a few places its star can go. Mark ✕ on every cell that would touch all of them.
Use the no-touch rule
A star rules out all eight cells around it. Mark them with ✕ straight away so you never have to recheck.
Lines inside one region
If a region sits entirely inside one row or column, that row or column's star belongs to that region. Cross out the rest of the line.
Count regions against rows
If two regions fit inside the same two rows, those two rows' stars are theirs. Every other cell in those rows gets a ✕.
Undo costs nothing
Undo is free and only the clock counts. Try an idea, and step back if it breaks a rule.
Never guess
Every grid has exactly one answer, so there is always a cell you can prove. Look for it instead of guessing.
